Irritating discharges from mucous membranes,especially in the respiratory tract. Dry, scaly skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. General weakness and emaciation, despite a good appetite. Glandular swellings. It is used in chronic conditions that feature these symptoms.

Generalities

This remedy should be thought of when the *discharges of MUCUS MEMBRANES are persistently *acrid, *profuse, thick, gluey, yellow like honey, in chronic affections; and thin in acute conditions. . It is a remedy for senile heart, and myocarditis and fatty degeneration of the heart. Heart weakened by chronic lung affections. Sensations of *heaviness occurs in many parts. Axillary tumours. Erethistic weakness; debility.

Head

Vertigo with tremulous feeling esp. in aged. Dull heavy headache, across forehead or occiput. Study causes headache. Pain over the root of nose, as if she would go silly.

Eye

Eye balls feel heavy.

Ears

Foul otorrhoea. Tympanum thickened. Hypertrophy of eustachian tube; deafness from.

Nose

Drips water, which is *hot, *green, *acrid, *reddens upper lip. Persistent but unsatisfactory sneezing. Tingling in the nose and constant desire to sneeze. *Coryza with dyspnoea. Post-nasal catarrh. Hay fever. Influenza. Colds with hunger.

Face

*Aching in malar bones. Cancer of lips.

Throat

Raw burning, tonsils swollen, Chronic follicular pharyngitis. Goitre.

Stomach

Intense thirst, with desire for cold water which is ejected at once. Vomiting an hour after food. Uncomfortable nausea.

Abdomen

Diarrhoea and dysentery; stools scalding, glass white. Enlarged mesenteric glands. Painful swelling in right groin on extending leg.

Rectum & Anus

Continual aching in anus, with seeming inability to keep sphincter closed, amounts to real dysenteric straining at stool.

Stool

Excoriating diarrhoea. Diarrhoea or dysentery, stools not at all at night, but urging commencing on beginning to move in morning.

Urinary Organ

Skin dry, urine increased. (Disease in urogenital organs, especially in females with scrofulous taint.).

Sexual Organ

Lump in mamma, sensitive to touch and painful, nipple retracted.

Respiratory System

Slight hacSoreness of back, especially of back of neck, as if he had been beaten. Burning heat in lumbar region, as if the clothes were on fire.king cough, with dryness and stoppage of the nostrils. Asthmatic sensations, must sit up to breathe. Expectoration heavy night and morning. Frequent cough with mucopurulent and occasionally stringy expectoration. Greenish-yellow pus-like expectoration; haemorrhage (chronic induration of the lungs). Chronic bronchitis with difficult expectoration and short breath. Pneumonias that fail to clear up.

Heart & Pulse

Irregular pulse, cardiaPeculiar chilliness back of left thigh, followed by formication and weight of left foot, the latter extending later up the leg, clothes feel cold, partially better by walking, removed by applied warmth. Severe laming pain left calf. Painful formication outer border left foot, followed by burning on instep.c weakness, pain either with or without valvular disease, especially when accompanied with induration of lung tissue.

Neck & Back

Soreness of back, especially of back of neck, as if he had been beaten. Burning heat in lumbar region, as if the clothes were on fire.

Extremities

Peculiar chilliness back of left thigh, followed by formication and weight of left foot, the latter extending later up the leg, clothes feel cold, partially better by walking, removed by applied warmth. Severe laming pain left calf. Painful formication outer border left foot, followed by burning on instep.

Skin

Persistent itching of various parts of body, most of back. Chronic skin affections. Psoriasis.

Fever

Recurrent fever with sweat. Drenching night sweats, with weakness. Chilly, cannot endure cold.

• Acrid, watery nasal discharge: Burning and irritating, often in chronic catarrhal conditions.
• Dry, scaly skin eruptions: Accompanied by burning and intense itching, sometimes with psoriatic tendencies.
• Glandular enlargement: Particularly of the cervical and mesenteric glands.
• Progressive weakness and emaciation: Despite a potentially good appetite.
• Restlessness with respiratory complaints: A combination of weakness and anxiety related to breathing.
